Noorani Qaida Page 10 - Lesson 06: Mashq Harakat & Tanween (Word Practice)

Noorani Qaida Page 10

Welcome to Noorani Qaida Page 10 at Learning Quraan. This page introduces Takhti Number 06: Mashq Harakat wa Tanween (Exercises on Short Vowels and Double Vowels). To help your child master Quranic reading step by step, check out our Online Noorani Qaida for Kids or explore our full range of courses on the Courses page.

On Page 10, students begin combining single short vowels (Fatha, Kasra, Damma) and double vowels (Tanween) to read full 3-letter Arabic words. This critical milestone transitions students from isolated letter sounds to fluent word-building.

What is Covered in Noorani Qaida Page 10?

Page 10 contains structured word practice designed to test correct letter recognition, vowel application, and smooth connected pronunciation:

  • 3-Letter Word Formation: Practicing three-letter Quranic words with varied combinations of Fatha (Zabar), Kasra (Zer), Damma (Pesh), and Tanween.
  • Key Quranic Word Examples: Words such as Abadan (أَبَدًا), Ahadun (أَحَدٌ), Akhadha (أَخَذَ), Adhina (أَذِنَ), Amara (أَمَرَ), Ana (أَنَا), Bakhila (بَخِلَ), Bararatin (بَرَرَةٍ), Ja’ala (جَعَلَ), Jama’a (جَمَعَ), Hasada (حَسَدَ), Hashara (حَشَرَ), Khashiya (خَشِيَ), Khalaqa (خَلَقَ), Khuliqa (خُلِقَ), Dhakara (ذَكَرَ), Rafa’a (رَفَعَ), Raqabatin (رَقَبَةٍ), Sururun (سُرُرٌ), Safarat (سَفَرَةٍ), Suhufan (صُحُفًا), Wasatan (وَسَطًا), Tabaqan (طَبَقًا), Abasa (عَبَسَ), Adala (عَدَلَ), Alaqin (عَلَقٍ), Amadin (عَمَدٍ), and Inaban (عِنَبًا).
  • Spelling (Hija) & Direct Reading (Rawaan): Guidance for spelling individual letter movements first and then blending them smoothly without stretching or pauses.

Key Tajweed Guidelines for Page 10

To ensure perfect recitation on Page 10, keep these rules in mind:

  • Do Not Stretch Short Vowels: Single movements (Zabar, Zer, Pesh) must be pronounced quickly without prolonging them into elongated vowel sounds.
  • Rules of Ra (ر) – Tafkheem & Tarqeeq: If Ra (ر) carries a Zabar or Pesh, pronounce it with a full, heavy voice (Tafkheem). If it carries a Zer, pronounce it soft and light (Tarqeeq).
  • Special Exception – Ana (أَنَا): When reading the word Ana (أَنَا) in Quranic recitation, the Alif at the end is silent during continuous reading and should not be prolonged.
  • No Stuttering or Pauses: Encourage the student to spell out each letter sound and then recite the complete word in one continuous breath.
